Our museum transforms a collection of illegal items used by North Koreans into art installations. Curated by refugee artists, the museum will illustrate the dictatorship’s absolute control of culture, information, and self-expression — and the North Korean people’s defiance of and resilience under that control.
Our museum exists to dismantle outdated and disempowering narratives of North Korea while elevating the voices of the North Korean people. We hope to inspire Canadian audiences in reimagining a new North Korea: made in the image of its people, not its leader.
